In summer, we focus on precise, elegant and versatile Provence wines, selected for their freshness, style and ability to accompany the magical evenings of the Cannes Pyrotechnic Festival.
1. Summer puts fireworks at the heart of Cannes life
As soon as the warm weather arrives, people's tastes change. We see a return to a search for lighter, more digestible and more luminous wines, with a real sensation of freshness on the palate. The fireworks at the Festival Pyrotechnique are also a welcome addition, as they have been a feature of summer evenings in Cannes for over 50 years.
From 4 July to 24 August 2026, six exceptional evenings will transform the Bay of Cannes into a veritable theatre of light. Fireworks synchronised to music and spectacular visual effects bring the 500 metres of seafront to life, for an unforgettable experience close to home.
In our cellar 1862 Wines & Spirits, This period is also the time when we re-evaluate the profiles best suited to the fireworks evenings and convivial moments that are typical of the Côte d'Azur.
2. We select our vintages with an advisory approach
Our approach is based above all on tasting and advice. To go with the fireworks, we choose wines with clean, elegant aromas, a good balance between fruit, freshness and texture, and real versatility at the table.
This method allows us to go beyond a simple label logic. Above all, we're looking for the right wine for the right moment.
3. Several tasting profiles to suit all tastes
For the evenings of July, we offer lively, floral aperitif rosés, fuller gourmet rosés, fruity convivial rosés and more refined signature rosés. For August, we favour spicy brut champagnes, rosé champagnes with red fruits, and grand cru champagnes for their complexity.
This makes our diversity easy to read. A wine can be very direct and light, or more structured and ambitious at the table.
4. Wines adapted to specific uses at Cannes
Cannes offers a wide range of wine-tasting opportunities. For the terrace, we prefer cooler wines served at 10-12°C. For the table, we choose wines with more depth. For moments of sharing, we choose versatile wines like Bandol rosé. For demanding wine lovers, we keep more singular references such as the Grands Crus of Bordeaux and Burgundy.
5. Our added value is the right selection
Since 1862, we have been bringing to life a historic cellar in the heart of Cannes, with over 2,000 wine references and more than 500 spirits. During the Pyrotechnics Festival, our role is to help everyone find the wine that really suits their taste and their moment.
The six not-to-be-missed evenings are 4 July at 10pm, 14 July at 11pm, 22 July at 10pm, 4 August at 10pm, 15 August at 10pm and 24 August at 10pm. Admission is free for all.
